Can't get that Disney song out of my head since Maya discovered how to use her swim arms. It's is so freeing to go to the pool and not have to hold her non-stop, especially when she did NOT want to be held. We still have to watch her like a hawk, but at least our arms are free.
Practicing her bubbles:
And her backstroke:
She's totally fearless in the water. She was getting out of the pool, running to the deep end and jumping in, swimming to the ladder, and doing it all over again and again and again. The most amazing part of it was when she discovered another way to jump in all on her own. I was in the water waiting for her to jump and she just looks at me with this look of concentration and then you could see the light bulb go on. She turns around and falls backward into the water. Not jump backward, but falls, like a tree - straight back. It was hilarious and I made a huge fuss over how awesome it was. Marley of course did not want to be outdone and pipes up with "I can do that too!". She got to the edge of the pool, turns around and just stands there...then looks over her shoulder and says, "you're going to go help me, right mommy? You're going to hold my hand?". These kids crack me up, they are as different as night and day.
funny, they really really are night and day huh?;)
